    Decent time.

When I did my first one it was about 40 mins.

I love 'unofficial' races. Especially if you have a nice area to do it in.

BOOOOYA! Great for you!!! You must be so very proud of yourself. Nothing like attaining a physical goal and feeling like SUPERMAN afterwards! :)

Good on ya! A 5k race was actually one of the main catalysts in my motivation to lose weight and get in shape! Congrats! Keep in mind, it never gets any easier, you just get faster!

Excellent! Now, get out and sign up for a race - you know you can do the distance but there's something electric about the atmosphere at a race (even if you're not one of the elites in the first corral).

Your only goal the first time out is to cross the finish line with a smile on your face but it's an experience you'll never forget - even after you've run more races, longer distances etc. My first race medal is still my favourite......

I'm registered for a few 5K's in the early fall. I just wanted/needed the motivation of doing one now just to see what kind of a time I could do. Now I have a time to beat!!
