I found a recipe for granola which looks nice and easy but it calls for rice malt syrup which I don't have.. So what else can I use to sweeten granola?

Replies

  • Or is it better to just omit the rice malt syrup and eat the granola with yoghurt and honey or something?

You could use honey, or even maple syrup.

When I have made granola before, I made granola bars and I mixed honey and brown sugar to help them stay together and to sweeten them.

I use honey to make my granola and I have used maple syrup but prefer honey cheaper and stronger flavor.

There are only a few places in the US that can get the yummy tasting Golden syrup. Amazon is one of them and I am not sure what the equvlent would be. I am not sure there is one really.

My favorite homemade granola is sweetened with frozen apple juice.
