Heart Rate Monitor?

Just asked my husband if I could get a heart rate monitor for my birthday. I'm in this. Haha. I really want one to know accurate calories I'm burning and where my heart rate is getting to and whatever other fun things they track...

I know the Polar brand is really good -- or at least it's the one I most commonly see on my friends. Any recommendations?

Thanks for the help!

I use the Zephyr Bluetooth for Android. Rechargeable chest strap that connects via bluetooth to your android phone. I carry my phone along for music and gps mapping anyway so I see no point in splurging for a watch also. I have had it for about 5 months with no issues.

I recently got the Polar FT7 Female version, and I have to be honest its so easy to use that I love using it! I've only used it twice so far but I am really happy that I got this, I have an accurate account of the calories I'm burning and I can't cheat myself cause your heart rate rarely lies!!

Too funny. I asked for a fan for my exercise room for my birthday-next year I want a bigger fan! I use a Polar FT40. It is easy to use and has really helped me. My burns are way lower according to it than MFP or what others record and I need to know that in order to eat within a reasonable range. I might in the future add a FitBit or an Body Media in order to have a better grasp of "all day burn" but need to do more research-lots of conflicting views out there.

I have the Polar FT4. It's great! I also bought an adapter that allows me to sync my data online to track my workouts better. It's nice to say I burned 5,000 calories (or whatever) in a month!
