Please help I need advice. I'm doing insanity for 4 weeks now and my weight has stalled at 200 pounds for the last two weeks. The book says I should eat 2700 cals a day I'm eating less about 1800. I thought I was doing great but is thus the reason the weight loss has stalled?

Probably. .. it happened to me when I ate too little. So why not try to follow the plan as its designed.0

It seems counter intuitive though to eat more to lose weight. Surely your body will lose weight if you eat less no?0

Large caloric deficits can be counter productive as your body will release cortisol as a famine response. Try not to think of it as eating more but rather adequately fueling your body. Why not bump it to 2400 to start and then eventually bump it to 2700. Also, w large calorie deficit can increase the risk of muscle loss which means it will take longer to get ripped.0

While it seems counterintuitive, eating less can actually cause your weight loss to stall. Your body is not receiving the necessary nutrients to fuel a healthy, fast metabolism. Because you aren't eating enough, your body slows its calorie burn rate. Your body then clings on to whatever few calories it is receiving.
You should probably eat more. Starving your body does not lead to healthy, stable weight loss.0 -

Answer these questions from Shaun T: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DNdCGW5fJ44
I would focus more on the results of the workout over scale changes. I'm on the last 2 weeks of the program and have only seen about 2 pounds weight change, but the makeup of that weight is MUCH better - I'm stronger and my body fat% is much much lower than when I started. Also, know that everything kicks into super-high gear in Month 2. Judging from the blog/forum browsing I've done, there are a lot of people who didn't see significant results until Month 2.0 -
According to MFP if you want to lose 2lbs a week you should consume no more than 1200 calories per day. I want to see weight loss pictures of those eating 2500+ calories a day. Even with my daily routine plus the gym I would have to burn 3k-4k calories a day to lose 1 pound in a week. Stop kidding yourselves.0

Mfp is designed around net calories. That means you eat 1200 net not gross.. aka you eat back exercise calories. Also, not everyone can aim for 2 lbs per week. In fact, unless you are obese 2 weeks is too aggressive. Also keep in mind there is a huge difference between weight loss and muscle loss.
Additionally, I do x2 I am 30 years old, weigh 194 and burn 3000 calories a day with a desk job. I could aim for 2000 calories a day but I would lose muscle and its not worth it. What you have to realize is your metabolic rate is about 60-75% of your daily caloric burn.0 -
Looking at the Insanity results from people I would suggest just to follow the book even if it seems too high.0

This is a scary thing, eating all those calories.Mine has come up to more than 1800 and I am so worried about eating so many calories inspite of what everyone's suggesting.
I feel I will never lose weight like this.
Will have to try it out to know for sure,I guess.
I've spent 24 yrs being fat, whats 2 more months right?
Fingers crossed,hopefully I'll lose weight even with 1800 cals.0
