Starting out; binge snacking

I just started working out and being a more conscious eater (biggest goal was to eat less) less than a week ago, but I found myself binge snacking tonight. I was just wondering if anyone else did this starting out and if so, what you did to prevent it? Just pure will power?

First of all, make sure you are allowing enough calories to not be famished.
Read these, MFP calculates your calories for you, but you need to know how to input the correct data to be given the right number of calories:

That article was full of very good advice. For me the key has been not to "deprive" myself of so-called "bad" food. I simply come up with a healthier version of them. I just had a greek yogurt and light cream cheese cupcake that had 87 calories and it was completely satisfying. I don't consider it a "substitution" since it is not eating a carrot when I want a brownie. I agree that willpower is not the key, I think it is being creative in your cooking so you can satisfy pretty much every craving with little or no guilt.0
