I just counted out some almonds and raisins for a snack. I am really hungry right now but haven't gone for my run yet so I thought almonds are great. They take a while to eat if I eat them one at a time, good stuff. My 7 yo asks to share my almonds. The big container was in the kitchen...I was not..I said no..these are mine. mine . mine . mine. LOL...
Anyone else get stingy with your food after you have measured it out so carefully?

Sometimes when I'm short on time, or lazy lol, I have a lean cuisine for lunch or dinner. My hubby was drooling over and asked me for a bite. I said, "No way!! There's only like 3 bites to the whole meal!!" LOL! :-) So yes, you're not the only "stingy" one! :-)

I'm the same way! The best part is when you're fixing something and ask the kids/hubby if they want some and they say no then try to eat what you've made for yourself. It's like, "You've had your chance. Leave me and my food alone!" LOL!

I get irritated at my husband when I try to get him to eat healthier and he doesn't want to and complains but then when I buy healthy food for me that I have planned out for the week he eats it!!!! UGHHH!!!!! it wouldn't bother me if he had told me he wanted some too, then I could have bought him some.

In addition to my husband stealing my healthy snacks, my three year old always wants to "taste" my premeasured snacks.

Yes I get stingy with my food and my skinny husband doesn't understand that "this is ALL I get to eat right now so NO you can't have any!" He can eat anything whenever he wants I CAN'T!!!!!
  • Sometimes I share and sometimes I don't. I have been known to say * Eat my _________ and you die!* I buy healthy snacks and they are gone in a day.

You know it!! I make my kids get their own! Of course that's just because I've counted or measured. :)

Glad to see I am not alone. If I have measured it out, counted the calories, allowed myself only...oh say 14 almonds...I want every single one....I would be happy to share some banana with you...I would be happy to make you your own trail mix snack but keep your grubby little paws off my allotted calories....

yes! in fact, i do that with my water bottle. i tell the kids, "no, i have to drink a certain amount of water per day and if you drink any, it'll screw it all up!" lol! i also do that with my "diet" foods. you have your little debbie snack cakes - leave my mini rice cakes alone!

Unfortunatly I don't have that problem. My boyfriend doesn't eat fruits and vegies! I know I know. He never has, never will. He actually will occasionally eat a salad...as long as it is swimming in dressing! I cook the meat and share it sure! And the potatoes. I do cook dinner for both of us, just do different "sides" with the entree. I make enough that both of us usually have leftovers for lunch the next day.

LOL..YES! I am training the kids though...they know that mommy's food is weighed so they need to get their own. The odd time though I will share a few spoonfuls of yogurt with the youngest. She doesn't eat much and in the grand scheme of things it is less calories for me ;)
