Healthy frozen treats?

Any advice for some healthy frozen treats? I love me some ice cream in the summer! So far I tried frozen greek yogurt okios and light and fit but it doesn't do the job for me lol. I also made frozen pb and banana bites, greek yogurt covered blueberries/strawberries, frozen eggless sugar free homemade cookie dough bites and mr wheat with coolwhip mixed with pb2..

Any other frozen treat ideas?

  • freeze up some fruit regular yogurt and fresh mango (spooned out of the mango in small pieces) into a popsicle mold or cups + popsicle sticks! freeze for about 4-5 hours or overnight & they'll be ready! yogurt tastes amazing frozen & the mango doesn't freeze, it just has a harder texture but still stays SO soft & good, almost like a sorbet :) try it! I usually make about 6 at a time. I put the recipe in my recipe calorie calculator & each popsicle is about 60-70 calories :)

    Try a Yonanas like treat. (If you like bananas)
    I just use my food processor. Pureed frozen bananas have a creamy consistency. Add additional fruit of your choice.
    I've tried a few mix-ins. I like to add frozen strawberries for a strawberry banana "ice cream" treat.
    Have also added frozen pineapple and mandarin oranges.
    I still have some experimenting to do. :)

    My coworker recently made two batches - one cherry/dark chocolate & one with Andy's mints.

    My friend has a Yonanas and made me a banana and strawberry one! What a great invention :)

    Cant you just do the same thing with a food processor or blender?

    Grapes are good. So are granitas. I like mango granitas. I eat a lot of mochi too. One is a great treat that isn't too many calories. Homemade popsicles are always a go to as well. I like to spike mine with vodka. :bigsmile:

    Frozen grapes are a very low maintenance frozen treat. Can also work as ice cubes in Water or Juice. Taste like a Popsicle, Yummy!!

    1 scoop vanilla protein powder (whey isolate or similar)
    150g frozen fruit (mangoes, bananas and berries, especially strawberries, go well in this recipe)
    100g laban (or yoghurt if you don't live anywhere that sells laban)

    blend in a blender, pour into a bowl, eat with a spoon. Tastes like ice cream, but has a much higher protein content and loads of vitamins and healthy carbs.

    Almost all fruits and great, but I'll suggest no sugar, let it be all natural. :smile:

    frozen blueberries, strawberries, grapes, raspberries etc

    I love packing some really frozen ones in my handbag and just munching them as I shop....never gets boring !!

    I love the frozen greek yogurt okios, blueberry. Though I know what you mean, it doesn't quite cut it. I eat well all week and kick my own *kitten* to enjoy it. Theres always blueberries/raspberries to throw on it, but truthfully a single serving of crushed dark chocolate on it makes it taste so much better and a little more satisfying without going overboard on another type of frozen yogurt/ice cream and the higher calories with it. Another type you can try for the same calories per serving as the Okios is the Stonyfields Gotta Have Java ice cream. Stop and Shop in the healthy section is typically where you can find it.

    I just eat ice cream if that's what I want.

    But I have also been on a popsicle making kick. I use fresh fruit, milk, and honey to make creamsicles that are pretty low calorie and very tasty. Here's the site I've been using, although I've been tweaking the recipes to be less calories.

    When I was watching my weight a few years ago (and had a bigger freezer) I would make frozen fruit salad. I'd put pineapple chunks, tangerine wedges, watermelon pieces, and banana slices out flat on a cookie sheet to freeze it without it sticking together. Then, once it was frozen, I'd put it all together in a big bowl along with some grapes. Then whenever I wanted something cold and sweet I'd grab a big bowl, And if I was really feeling wild, I'd top it with some cinnamon and even a splash of rum.

    I used canned pineapple and tangerine, but you could use fresh two. Anything that has a high water content works really well.

    That's what I said in my post. I use my food processor.
