How long does it take a pound of fat to form in the body?

Just wondering. If I were to eat a 3500 calorie meal right now, does the fat instantly add a solid pound to me or does it take awhile to get all over my body to make me fat? If I ate 7000 calories would I instantly be 2 lbs heavier in fat?

Funny question. Was just wondering this at 5 o clock in the morning

Bump, interested in answers. Obviously would not be instant. Would be cool to see a number with some science behind it.

There are far too many personal and individual variables (history of the person, genetics, biological efficiency, whether one does fitness activities, etc, etc,) to "acurately" depict "when" it will occur, IMO.

Tricksee has it spot on. I recall hearing that generally speaking for the proverbial "typical" person only about half of the calories are available to be stored as fat over the course of a day. I think this was on one of those health segments on the news.
