Winehouse bulimia

Since we're doing news stories today what does everyone think of this? I'd like to hear what people think about stigma with both the original and newly proposed causes of her death. How do we view these two things and does the brother feel protective of his sister's image? What beliefs are at play here?

Such a shame this makes my heart hurt. Media image is killing talent.

Kind of sad that her own brother called her "horrible". :( Not a term I'd like used to describe me when I'm gone.

That was kind of my reaction too. I get what he was trying to say, but I think he could have been a bit nicer about it.

I wish people would just focus on her music instead of focusing on "scandal". I feel bad for celebrities because everything gets scruitinised- it must feel awful.

I agree. The whole nonsense with James Galdofini and how his last meal was scrutinized. I feel bad for him, his legacy and his family because it's kind of crazy to have all of those sensitive details to be released about someone after death. When does it stop.

Perhaps her drug use led to bulimia? Perhaps those are shared causes of why her heart stopped?

I really don't know or care. She had a history of drug use, well documented in the press. She tried to get help, but it didn't work for her.

She knew the risks, she knew the consequences. It seems her brother just wants the stigma behind the cause of her death to be changed to something less "mean" sounding.

Call it what it is/was - drug use.
