Hand pain, anybody have any ideas?

Hey there! I've been having back pain lately (though it's been feeling better since I'm pretty sure I've determined the cause; still gonna see a specialist though) and my hands have been hurting a bit, too mostly the outer sides of my pinkies and hands and occasionally some kind of soreness in the center of my wrist. I was just wondering if it could have something to do with my using hand weights or doing pushups or something, or if it could simply be referred pain from a pinched nerve in my back.

Anybody else have similar experiences? Was it caused by exercise?

if you put your hands flat up against the monitor i can get a better idea. and if you could load your MRI and Xrays onto your photobucket account and post the images here i could be more accurate in my diagnosis

I am now rethinking asking my question about the pain I am experiencing in the cheek of my buttocks.

Alternating hands helps to alleviate soreness and cramping.

Yes but be careful with that. It's easy self-misdiagnose using Dr. Google.

OP see your doctor. Be prepared to answer questions about what type of pain (stabbing, aching, throbbing, burning, tingling, etc.) and the exact location. It'll help if you've already tried applying heat and cold, and taking tylenol or ibuprofen so that you can tell your doctor what helps and what doesn't. The more specific you can be the better.
  • If you are having pain/numbness in your ring finger or pinkie, you may have tweaked your ulnar nerve. I damaged mine by resting my forearms on the edge of my desk while typing. The ulnar nerve starts in the cervical spine travels down through the elbow and then through the wrist. Make sure you are keeping your wrists straight when you lift. If you are rotating your wrists towards your pinkie you may be tweaking that nerve.

As much as I appreciate the snark I have enough common sense to know that a doctor would know best and I have made an appointment, lol. I was just wondering if anybody else had experienced similar problems and knew what I should do in the meantime. It's stopped hurting even though I lifted weights this morning, though, so I do think it's referred pain from my back.
