Help me! i'm trying to stop my binge eating at night, and did so good with my food intake and calories today... and what did my mom have to go and do AFTER we went for an hour walk? BAKE COOKIES! they are downstairs and i'm fighting the urge to go shove them down my throat RIGHT now!

If I were in this situation, I would ask myself if I was really hungry... if not, I'd tell myself I could have a cookie tomorrow. If I was hungry, I would allow myself ONE cookie. If you can't just have one, it may be better to wait until tomorrow and have it after a meal (when you're less likely to eat a ton since you'll be fuller from the meal)
Good Luck!0 -
thank you! i know you're right! it's late and i need to start going to bed earlier, but my boyfriend is working out of state, and he tends to keep me up later than i should be. it doesn't help that i'm also a night owl with a mouth full of sweet teeth!0

I hear ya... I'm a night owl too (who needs to go to bed much earlier than I usually do). I usually save enough calories to give myself an evening snack - sometimes it's a "treat" and sometimes it's healthy, but this helps curb my nighttime snacking. I also will drink coffee or tea - I find hot drinks make me feel fuller than just drinking water.0 -
i try the hot drink thing sometimes and it makes me have to use the bathroom constantly! i wish i could find something sweet and kind of low cal that i could just munch on at night. sometimes it gets bad when i head for the peanut butter! it's so calorie dense, and when i binge on it, i can not stop until i've had a good 800 or 1000 calories worth! i'm getting ready to toss the pb in the trash!0

I would just have ONE. I did that yesterday and felt about myself. I was even offered Taco Bell and didn't want it! Try something healthy like dates or an apple, sometimes you need a little sugar0

i think i'm just going to make myself go to sleep!0

Brush your teeth! I hate eating after I brush. LOL Oh and for peanut butter check out bellplantation.com and PB2. It's a bit different, but it's great for PB addicts.0

Just a little Insight this is the main advice Jillian Michaels from the biggest looser gives!!!0 -
You could also try one of those 100 cal mini popcorn bags. A piece of fruit is also a nice sweet snack. You're probably the smartest to just give it up and go to sleep.0

All of the above ideas are good. You might also want to talk to your mom about supporting you by not baking cookies in your house. I don't think it is too much to ask. If she has to bake them she could at least not do it while you are home. My family no longer brings candy or deserts into our home. They eat them elsewhere, and I really appreciate that!0

I've been eating Strawberries or a banana with 1 Tbsp. Hersheys syrup (50 cal). This has really been curbing my sweet tooth at night.0

my mom is also very weight conscious! i am more so than she is, but it gets hard when my dad and brother eat WHATEVER. it's like the girls eat totally separate from the guys. they eat so unhealthy. my dad isn't really overweight, but it is starting to reflect, and my brother has always been bigger, and now he is stretching out due to intense football and growth spurts. BUT he would just be so much better off if he would change his diet, and he just doesn't get it when i try to talk to him about it? or he thinks it's going to be too hard? but i can't help but think things would be easier for him if he lost some of the excess weight....0
