Why did I gain weight

Okay I started to up my workout at the end of May. I did spin classes, body pump, walking, Jillian Micheal workout, all this for four weeks at least hour to an hour and a half. I gained 10 lbs, I think I lost some inches. I am very frustrated, I want to lose 10 to 25 lbs. I am 50 yrs old. This is some depressing, what am I doing wrong. I watch my calorie intake, and I do not binge eat. What am I doing wrong, I am about to to say forget it. Do anyone have any suggestions, please help. :mad:

    Don't base your goals on numbers! I know that's hard, but you say you lost inches, right?? I you are upping your strength and cardio trainings, then you are building muscle. Muscle weighs more than fat. Don't fret it, you are doing great!

    How much are you eating? How tall are you and what do you weigh? How many hours a week are you working out?

    I can't see your diary, so I don't know what you were eating.

    I can tell you why I gained weight while I was a cardio bunny! I was hungry. I was so so so hungry, but I didn't change the way I was eating. I needed to eat more, but I didn't need to eat more pizza :)
  • I agree with the above post - don't fret over the numbers. I don't think you are doing anything wrong - at 50 years old, your body has been or has already made the change and your metabolism has slowed - yay Mother Nature! I think you should continue as you are doing with the exercise - provided that you are not burning yourself out and watching what you eat. Perhaps check with your doctor to make sure you don't have any sort of conditions going on.
