Insanity nutrition guide

Ok, So I started Insanity June 10, 2013 and have a couple nutritional questions. I did the Harris Benedict equation and to maintain my weight..it said 4460 calories a day so I subtracted 500 so I could lose weight and that's still 3960...Now I weigh 202.2 lbs and I'm 69 inches tall. This calorie intake of 3960 sounds like too much to be loosing weight.
Did I do the equation right?

I'm pretty sure your calculation is off.
4000 calories is way too much. There are people who can eat that way and get lean, but they are typically advanced athletes. I typically use Mifflin St. Jeor method but it's not too far off from the Harris method.
Your maintenance is probably around 2500-2600, and you should be consuming around 2000-2100 in for cutting weight.
Just go to Freedieting.com for daily calorie needs calculators.0 -
THANK YOU...I was sooo confused. 3960 sounded high ! But I was eating around 1900-2000 cals a day. But I kinda find myself ... without energy... My stepfather worksout with this..Super NOS energy supplement should I start this before my workout ?
Will it effect my results (weight loosing)?
Is it healthy?0 -
According to the new book if you weigh 202 lbs and are sedentary you need to consume 2424 calories just to go through the day. If you are doing insanity you add 600 = 3024 . From here you will subtract 500 if you want to loose weight = 2524. Accordingly you round down to 2500 calories a day. Happy Workouts0

I strongly disagree with you - and your advice is bad. If she is 5'9'', and weighs 202, she works out 4 or 5 days a week, she will not loose weight at 2524 calories. She will maintain her weight and just spin her wheels. She needs to be around 1900 to 2200 calories to be in a calorie defict.0
