Hello,

I'm new to this site, but not to weight loss. I've got a condensed version of my story in my profile, but to save you a click, I'll condense it further here. I'm a 34 year old female, 5'11" tall, 192#, looking to get down around 165 or so. Not sure what I'll look like at that weight, so it's just a ballpark figure. I know at 182, I'm comfy in size 10 jeans, and close to being comfy in size 8. Given that I drop a pant size every 10 pounds, I figure at 165, I'll be comfy cozy in a size 6 and that's fine by me. No need to be a size 0, specially at my height or age, lol.

Like many of you, I've battled the ups and downs of weight loss. My highest weight was bestowed upon me at the time my father passed away 5 years ago. It was then that i chunked up from my normal 210# to close to 240#. I lost some weight when I decided it was time to knock off the crap, struggled with a plateau, started riding bikes, did the low carb thing too, and dropped on down to 182#. That was hmm, about 2 years ago and I've struggled since then not only to keep it off, but to continue the weight loss trend.

I recently had my gallbladder removed due to gall stones. The doc said it was likely from my fluctuating weight and several repeated attempts at low carb dieting (atikins, south beach, medifast). Funny, those programs will tell you that as long as you do _____, you wont end up with gallstones, just buy our products and books and you'll be fine! The truth of the matter is a bit uglier though, and after missing 6 weeks of work due to the surgery, 'normal complications' with the surgery, the two more surgeries to repair these 'complications' (i was leaking bile, thanks doc!), I wouldn't advise low carb anything to anyone. The only benefit to low carb dieting is quick weight loss. Suffice it to say, quick weight loss is like cheap seafood. Might be nice while you're enjoying it, but when the chickens come home to roost, you might not like what you are faced with.

I'm here because a good friend of mine told me about the site and invited me to join, so here I am. I'm just really setting up my profile and getting acquainted with the layout of the website currently. I may use tomorrow as my official start date, as I didn't get on the scale today, but know I was 192 on Sunday. The way my weight fluctuates on a daily basis means that today I could very well be 195 or 189, who knows. Starting on a Tuesday might drive me nuts though, LOL!

Anyways, here I am! Friend me if you'd like. I'm here for the chatting and companionship of like minded individuals, so reach out and say hello :)
