I am not new to MFP but I never posted before, I just wrote comments to other members topics. Today is my turn.

Is anybody out there tired of cooking?

I never liked cooking; honestly, I rather clean the bathrooms than spend time in the kitchen cooking. But since my husband likes to eat, and I have a calorrie counter in my head, I cook breakfast, lunch, and dinner all the time. We go out maybe once a week for dinner and the same for lunch.

I am creative most of the time, but my interest wears off very fast and most of the time I do the cooking complaining, which I hope that helps me to burn more calories (I didn'see that as an activity in the exercise menu...).

Food does not attrack me either, and I can eat with my eyes, and when I see the food on my plate...Puff! there goes my interest. I am lucky that I never gained a great amount of weight, not even when I was pregnant. But I did managed to add 10 lbs during the last 2 years due to my lazy thyroid, lack of excercise due to 2 shoulder surgeries, and work. Oh yes, I forgot, AGE too!

I love to exercise but my knees and the doctor, are telling me to slow down to avoid surgery for a little bit longer. I don't burn as many calories as I did in the past while exercising so I have to watch what I eat.

Since March of this year I managed to loose 7 lbs, and 2 lbs were after joining MFP at the begining of August. However, I still don't like cooking and I am afraid that I will go over the wagon because it is much easy to get process food that doing home cooking (I hate that word).

Any suggestions? Please don't send me recipes, got enough to wall paper my kitchen. I just would like to hear from anybody with the same Hell Kitchen sentiments.

My husband doesn't cook either, nor he cares to learn. If I say that I don't want to cook, he says: It is OK, let's go out tonight, and there comes the calories.

I'm right there with you. I enjoy the creativity of cooking, but most of the time, it just seems like a good way to make lots of dirty dishes.

You dont have to go out to dinner and go overload on the calories. Order light and nutritious and make someone else do the dirty work :)

I don't know if this would be helpful or not. But maybe when you cook you could cook up double or triple sized portions and freeze the leftovers in individual sized tupperware or zipplock baggies. That way in the future you could just pull them out and heat them up. Kinda like frozen dinners except you'll know how to count it since you know exactly what went into it.

Just an idea. I hope it helps. :)

That's a great idea. and I sometimes enjoy cooking and sometimes don't. I don't like preparing breakfast, lunch is usually something quick or made the night before and it's only really dinner I enjoy making.

Thanks for "listening," guys. I do cook extra whren possible bout not all dinners preparation allow me to do it. It seems that unless somebody invents as special low calorie tablet with all the magic ingredients, I will have to keep on cooking. Maybe NASA can give me some ideas. I don't think that the Space Station has any kitchen in such a small confiment. Don;t you think?

    Have a great week.
