I will show a steady weight loss for several days, and then jump up by 3 or 4 pounds. Several days later, I’m back where I was if not lower.

Am I the only one this happens to?

This is simply a weight fluctuation and no, you're not the only one. It happens daily to everybody on the planet.

If you're a good sized guy the amount you'll fluctuate could shock you. I've gone up by 5 pounds one day, taken a rest day and then lost all that 5 plus another 2. I started thinking about measuring my weight as having a degree of uncertainty and noting it along similar lines as scientific measurements. In other words, my weight is 223 lbs plus or minus ~1.5% of my body weight. Seen in that light, measuring your weights in tenths of pounds is more likely to stress you out than give you a useful number about your progress.

completely normal. water, unprocessed body waste, and more can add several pounds onto your body over the course of 1-2 days.

Completely normal I have fluctuated as much as 7 lbs in a day. Particularly if I have an exercise day and a high sodium day on the same day ;).
