Hi, I am relatively new to fitness dvds, I currently moved and so I am too far away from the gym to be motivated to go. I have heard amazing reviews of Jillian Michaels dvds and I was wondering which should i do?

I have a half hour slot in the morning where i would be able to exercise 6/7 days a week and an hour in the evening where I could exercise 4/5 days a week.

I was thinking about doing the 30 day shred in the morning as it is short? Is there any other one i could do in the evening to maximise results? Have a sun holiday 8 weeks away:)

I am 145 pounds, 24 years old and most of my weight is on my stomach. I generally want to lose that weight and tone up the rest of my body.

Not sure if i'm in the right forum or if there is a jillian forum. Any advice/success pics for motivation greatly appreciated:)

The 30 day shred in total will be 30 mins including the warm up / cool down - but its a good cardio & weight workout which will be good for you in the morning.

To help maximise results there are a number of other Jillian DVD's that I could recommend but I think that Banish Fat Boost Metabolism - which is about 40 minutes long in total including the warm up / cool down - the workout is split into 7 5 minute circuits of cardio moves. I personally think it is an awesome workout and I alternated this one with No More Trouble Zones which has the same kind of format but uses weights to tone "those trouble zones"

I am a big Jillian fan and have the following DVD's (I have ordered them in my own personal preference):

    1) Banish Fat Boost Metabolism
    2) No More Trouble Zones
    3) 30 Day Shred
    4) Killer Buns & Thighs
    5) Ripped in 30
    6) Extreme Shred & Shed

    Good luck

    xx

I will also recommend BFBM and NMTZ for your evening slot. They're no joke.

Hey, snap - I first "met" Jillian when I was 145lbs and 24 (2 years ago). I'm now 130lbs and just finished another cycle of 30DS in advance of my beach holiday.

I love 30DS (just under 30 mins) and NMTZ (45 - 50 mins) and just got BFBM as a birthday present, tried it last night for the first time. Do you have handweights? You'll need weights for 30DS and NMTZ.
  • Hi there

i am a huge fan of Jillian. When I first saw her dvds I have decided to give a try to 30 day shred. I loved it because it was only 30 min. Then I started to research on her other dvds and there was a huge selection. I put my eye on Body revolution because I wanted more challenge and I am glad that I have chose nit. At the moment I am finishing month one and have never skipped any day (which is not usual stuff for me). BUT Jillian showed different approach unlike other trainers.

My advice, if you are a beginner and not ready for a big challenge try 30 day shred as a warm up, then go for BR program and after that you can follow anything you like from her programs. But if you want a challenge straight away start BR it is easy for the first two weeks and after it gets tougher with each week. Try it you wont regret.

Got belly fat? Killer Abs targets that!

I've just finished week 4 of Killer Abs. Did level 1 for 3 weeks and just did level 2 this week. Has some pretty whacky moves in there but it's something to learn and build up on. I don't like such predictable workouts. This one is definitely a challenge and worth looking into!
