Doing too much?

I do Tae Bo 4-5 times a week, c25k 3 times a week and i walk 3hrs with my 4 month old son in a carrier on my back at least twice a week, i also do push ups once a week. Crunches 2 or 3 times and a little weight training twice a week.
Lately, my legs (mainly calf area, front and back) really ache. I use muscle rub regularly and i abandoned my workouts over the weekend to rest but I can't even walk up the stairs without having to take one step at a time! Am i possibly doing too much

rest, stretching, and protein are always needed to recover from exercise. as long as you don't neglect to do those things, you will get used to the activity and become super fit!!! its great that you do all of those things, but if you notice that your body is reacting by feeling worse and worse after you work-out, its probably trying to tell you that you need some rest.0

Okay, it could be that you have over-exercised, or it could be that something is wrong. There's no way that someone as young and as fit as you (and yes, if you can do all this exercise this regularly, you are fit) should be having difficulty walking up stairs. I had an overuse injury once -- plantar fasciitis so bad that I literally crawled to the bathroom in the morning -- and it required 6 months of NO walking for exercise to eliminate. The weight I have just lost is the weight I gained from that injury, plus about 15 more pounds I still need to lose to break even.
My recommendation would be to see your doctor. If you cannot do that for some reason (financial or otherwise), take a look at your exercise program and determine which exercise causes the most pain (either during or after) and eliminate that one. It may still take a long time before you feel better. But you need to take care of it now, before you cause serious injury (I was very nearly at the point of needing surgery).0 -
Your muscles need time to heal. That's what makes them stronger. Yes you can do to much. Sounds like your not giving your legs time to heal. Be careful you can do damage. Pain is a signal. A little bit soar is one thing. We all can get a little soar but when you have pain its a sign your doing to much. Give your legs a rest.0

sounds like it could be shin splints? Are you running/walking outside or on a treadmill?0
