Not worth celebrating until we're off that list :-/

I disagree. It's an improvement, no matter how small.

Way to go not making the list, Canada!! :drinker:

Hehe, that was my thought, too. I emigrated from the UK, so I'm laughing a little about that :)

Is it a coincidence that the map of America and Mexico combined looks like a giant mouth that is eating the islands of puerto rico, cuba, and the virgin islands? This is my theory. It's geographical.

Interesting. Nearly 50% of the Mexican population live below the poverty line. I wonder what impact that has.

I think it might be a prouder moment if our
country had collectively just lost a ton of
excess weight .. jmho. Sad for any country
to wear that crown of 'most obese'.

    A lot.

Average quarterly income in Mexico is about 6,000 pesos. That's 2,000 pesos a month. At the current exchange rate, that's about 167 dollars a month. From my experience, groceries are as pricey there as they are in the US. That makes it tough to choose healthier options, as they tend to be pricier. Folks tend to be more sedentary than they used to be -- just like the US.

would it be safe to assume that Hungary, is, um, well, hungry??? (Stupid and corny, I know, but I'm crackin' UP!!!)

Yeah. Hungary took a bit of Turkey, dipped it in Greece and fried it in Japan.

Haven't thought about that silly school rhyme in years!

America is no longer the fattest country!

    http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/news/america-fattest-obese-un-144341236.html

Prevalence of obesity among adults in developed countries (% obese)

But not all of those countries are developed. Also the WHO news says this statistic is misleading, because for example there are lots and lots of overweight people in Mexico, but the actual number of obese people is very small.
Also, the WHO says that Mexico is #1 when it comes to children, but not when the whole population is counted. I never know what to believe.
I am however happy that certain European countries are not on the list and it might be worth it to check out their general diet.

Currently, there are 196 countries in the world. Being number two means that the USA is "fatter" than 99.989% of the rest of the world... Yeah...Celebrate...Yahoo...:drinker:
