A Heartwarming Story

I just had a wonderful walk. Physically and mentally. It's amazing how much a walk can let you get in touch with God and nature and clear your mind. During this walk, I also received some wonderful news....
A couple of days ago, I had a visit from a neighbor down the road who asked me to keep an eye out for her golden retriever (with a red collar) who had been lost since 4th of July night. She had been let outside to do her business... the owners thinking the underground fence (which always worked) was still plugged in (but had been accidently unplugged). Obviously, Sugar (the dog) had gotten scared from the fireworks, and took off. The family had searched everywhere. So they thought. They had searched every street in the neighborhood and surrounding areas. They had left their numbers with countless people and posted ads online.
This morning, during my walk, Sugar's owner saw me and came out to give me the best news. They found their precious dog last night. 12 MILES AWAY. At this woman's husband's job. Sugar had NEVER been there before... but, obviously, when she got scared she just ran in search of her master and followed his scent. See... the owners weren't home that night. Only their teenage daughter. Sugar obviously got scared and wanted her parents like any child would. Dogs are so amazing. They love us unconditionally no matter how much we leave them or scold them. And, they never give up on their goals. Like Sugar, they keep going until they find what or who they are looking for.
When they found her, Sugar was covered in ticks and her paws were cup up and bloody. Needless to say, she is also exhausted. But, she had never given up. Sometimes we should learn a lesson or two from our four-legged family members.

You are right. Animals are amazing. They teach us so much. And... you're more than welcome. I thought the story would be inspiring to others just as it was to me.0

This made me tear up too!! We had to put our sweet little Katie to sleep this past April due to liver tumors and we still miss her so very much! She was our furry, four-legged daughter and totally part of our family. I still look around for her lots of times and then realize she's not here. I am so glad for this family that they found their sweetie! Obviously they love Sugar and she loves them! Thanks for sharing! :flowerforyou:0

In just the past couple of years, I've lost 2 dogs from sickness which was horrible. I can't imagine them being lost and me not knowing where they are or if they are OK. I love my fur-babies so very much. They are my family.0 -
Isn't God wonderful, praise Jesus.0

What a sweet story! My dogs are like children. If they are at the vet or being boarded prior to a trip, my house feels empty without them.0
