No calories for strength training?

Maybe I just set up my account wrong,

But when I enter in my strength training it's not counting it towards my exercise goal for minutes or calories burned. It seems it only counts cardio?

Do I need to change my settings, or does it not count strength training at all?

Mine is set up the same way. I think that is how MFP works.
  • If you look under cardio, you can search for strength training and it's there.

You have to understand that if you are lifting baby weights and not doing ****, you arent going to burn the same amount as someone going hard in the paint.

My suggestion - get a arm band or whatever strap **** to put on your body and wear it to find out how hard you are going in the paint.

If you go into cardio and add as strength training you can add that way, although I"m not sure how accurate that is. But it's better than nothing : )

But if I want to enter under Strength Training for example "abdominal crunches - 5 sets - 20 reps per set" it doesn't count towards my weekly fitness goal or calories burned?

You have to make two (or more) entries, One each for the strength training exercises you do, Crunches, Push-ups, Sit-ups, Dumbbell curls, etc., to track your exercises, then make a Cardiovascular entry for "Strength training (weight lifting, weight training)" for the minutes worked and calories burned. It actually kinda makes sense after you enter it a few times.

If you want to enter strength training and count towards your calories, go to Cardiovascular section and add Strength training (weight lifting, weight training) from there.

I have found that wearing my HRM during this time, helps me to log what I burn. I generally dont lift heavy weights, but I do lots of reps at a higher rate to keep the HR in the fat burn area.
