Operation NO SMOKE - seeking like-minded lunatics!

Hi guys and gals,

I can't believe I'm doing this but after losing 60+ lbs since January I have now decided to quit smoking as well! Looking for MFP friends who are doing the same so we can support each other :)

Feel free to add me

Pete

i have quit a couple times in the past few years, once for about 6 months (or it might have been longer). as of now, it has been 29 hours since my last cigarette and my confidence that that number of hours will continue to grow is not very high. i feel like i was much more confident and resolute the last two times i quit, anyone who is quitting is welcome to add me as well.

I'm not a smoker but wanted to show my support! My husband has been smoke free for over 2 years and it's so great! He quit cold turkey and never looked back. His best friend for a good 5 months was gum - lots and lots of gum - because it was definitely an oral thing for him. Thinking about how much he was saving $wise, plus how it was helping his health were really great motivators. It did take a while for him to get all the junk out of his lungs though. He was amazed at how much more he could smell, how much better he could taste things, and how he felt that he could breathe better.

You can do it! Not only that, but you will LOVE IT!
