calories burned while swimming

Hi all, does anyone have any info on swimming as a weight loss tool? My pool will be finished next week so help.

Too many variables...your stats, intensity, duration, etc...there is no single answer for your question. Best bet is a HRM...still an estimate, but your best bet.
Also, your best "weight loss tool" is your diet. If you're using MFP, there's a big old calorie deficit from maintenance built in there for weight loss. You eat to that goal and lose weight. I lost my first 20 Lbs without lifting a finger in exercise before I decided that I also wanted to be fit.0 -
I second the HRM
Make sure you get one with a chest strap they are the most accurate. And either way, enjoy the pool! Anytime you are moving you are burning calories
