How much exercise is enough?

I know it is a weird question, and I am not being lazy...Just wondering if what I am squeezing in when I can with my 40 hour a week job and mom of three time is enough.

I try to walk every day on my breaks at work and after work. I speed walk as fast as my little legs can go ( I am 5'1"). Usually close to half an hour a day. That is about all I can get in unless I wake up really early in the morning. I don't like going out when it is still dark though.
  • Try walking over your lunch or regular breaks.
I also ride my bike to work sometimes.
I think "enough" is what makes you feel good/see results..
Even 10-15 min a day makes a difference for me.

It's enough for now but if you really want to lose weight and gain muscle you're going to have to start lifting. That means getting up early and heading to a gym.

Try to do 30 minutes of cardio a day goes a long way with diet. It helps a lot, especially if you have an Elliptical Machine and Treadmill in your living room. Lost 6 pounds in two weeks because of it.

I find cardio takes way too much of my spare time! Lift weights if you can, or google tabata bodyweight routines. You can have a crazy effective workout in 20 minutes.

Establish independent fitness goals...working towards independent fitness goals will tell you how much is enough or not enough and will also tell you what exactly you should be doing to achieve those goals. Otherwise, your'e just sorta haphazardly doing random ****...which is better than doing no ****, but not nearly as efficient or effective as it could be and should be.

Diet for weight control; exercise for fitness.

You can walk 1 mile in 15 minutes, so two 15 minute breaks per day and you get a few miles in. Then a decent interval workout would only take up another 30 minutes at least 3 times per week. Check out Youtube or Google "Interval training workout". You'll have lots to choose from that you can do right at home.

Try doing a HIIT workout. In 20 min you have a great workout. Sprint for 30 seconds, walk for 2 min, sprint for 30 seconds, walk for 2 minutes, until you have 20 minutes in. And if your kids are old enough, have them do it with you.
