Need motivation from those on MFP :)

I'll start of with a little about me. My name is Hannah & I'm a student in England.

I'm hoping to make a fresh start and get back into the shape I was in a year ago! Since being in a relationship I have become too comfortable with myself and I started to pile on the pounds. Gaining 3 stone in 1 year and 6 months was not what I had planned for me, but from every mistake you learn your lesson! I think my main problem for putting on weight was the contraceptive implant and then the depo jab, due to the many hormones in my body I became more hungry and less bothered about how I looked.

I'm hoping to find others on MFP who can help me on my journey. I get a lot of abuse from family and others around me about how I look now compared to the beginning of last year. I just really want to do this mainly for me but to show others that I can do it.

So please add me, I am a friendly person. I've gone through a lot of bullying and I want to find true friends on here that are going through the same thing as me. I'm hoping to go from 192lbs to 140lbs hopefully by the end of this year, if not then Summer next year!

  • Hey Hannah, I'm Imogen, also in England but my student days are a little behind me sadly!

I can completely relate to you on the family thing, for years I've been made to feel bad because I'm too fat, eat too much, look different to the rest of them etc which hasn't been much fun.

I'm not as heavy as I used to be but I've still got a way to go until I'll be happy with my weight so any support is welcome :)

Good luck with it! I'm sure we can both do it if we keep going and don't look back!

Hi there! I'm so sorry to hear that the people close to you are not supporting you the way you need them to in your new goal process. You deserve to be applauded for your decision to make some changes. I'm starting my process (again) too and also found several pounds due to a contraceptive (which I then stopped taking- it made me feel horrible- but somehow I just can't stick to a routine to get it off). I actually recently found out there is a blog section here too (listed under your "Home" tab!). If you need some inspiration on a "down day" (or what I call my "F it" days haha), there are a lot of awesome people chronicling their journey!

    You can do it! :flowerforyou:

Its too bad you have to put up with the bullying from anybody, but family and friends (who should support you no matter your choices) really are difficult to handle :frown:
You are always welcome to add me to your FL if you wish - I think we are on different times completely, but support knows no time ( I will just have to catch up with you when I get up or out of work :flowerforyou: )
I wish you the best in your journey. You can do it regardless of what others think of you - you need to believe in yourself and make a determined decision and stick with a solid plan. You've taken the first step by joining, and the second by reaching out on the boards - you can go further than you think you can (and WAY further than others seem to think you can!). :flowerforyou:
  • Hey Hanna! I can relate to you, since i've been a constant target from my family about my physical appearance too. Although i know they mean well, but it can get thoroughly annoying and hurting at times. I am trying to achieve my ideal weight and hopefully by the end of this year because ill most probably be attending a wedding.

Anyway, here's to a new beginning and Happier life ahead!
