How do you log multifoods, like a home made stew or a soup

I am curious how people log these mash ups, especially when you have a meal at someone else's home. Each ladle gives a different proportion/combination and you don't know all the ingredients. Thanks.

use the top tab "food" then hit lower tab Recipes and it will give you an area to add a recipe in and name it- you can add it to the main mfp or keep it strictly to yourself0

At someone's house, I just make my best guess. Overall it will all be okay, even if the totals are off for just one meal.0

sometimes if i don't feel up to the challenge of trying to figure it out, i will just put in a random 800 calories for that meal. and sometimes i won't log it at all. i agree with forming a recipe here on MFP, but sometimes don't feel like doing it. LOL0
