Sick of the whispers and stares

Hello. i found this app on my phone a few years ago and it worked; I lost weight and changed my lifestyle. I got too comfortable with my success and went back to my old, bad eating ways. I am here, again, to give it another go!

over the past 3 years I have gained about 50 lbs. I am bigger than ever. My family and friends are always approaching me with the "oh you must be stressed or wow you look so different" comments and I am sick of it. I know I am big, I'm not happy about how I look and feel, and it only makes me feel worse when they add comments.

I have about 80 lbs to lose. I don't have much of a social life. I havent been in a relationship in forever and outisde of work and the store, I don't leave my house much. I have an energetic 4 year old son i can barely keep up with! I am really hoping to be successful and make a serious lifestyle change!

I don't just want to lose weight, I want to learn to keep it off. I had a sister pass away at the age of 25 a few years ago from complications from diabetes; I have made it to age 28 but I have high cholesterol. I want to get healthy so I can live a long life.

I could use some motivaton and support as well as would love to give it out.

Good luck everyone with your goals!

Hello! I'm always open to making new friends. I log daily, and offer as much encouragement to my MFP friends as possible. I'm happy to help you on your WLJ if I can!

I don't have as much to lose as you, but I do want to lose another 30lbs. Feel free to add me!

feel free to send me a friend request. I'm on here daily and try to be as supportive as possible!
  • I'm on almost daily and I love new friends. Please, please do this for your son. I spent my daughters entire childhood morbidly obese and I missed so much. It is my biggest regret. Thankfully she didn't hold it against me and I have a second chance with my grandson to go to soccer games and the playground. That you lost your sister so young is tragic, please don't let obesity steal anyone else away from your family. You can do it no matter what it takes.

Send me a friend request and feel free to look at my diary. I know your pain.

You are right. It is a lifestyle change, and it is never too late to start. I am a little over halfway to my goal, and I could use the support, too. I log daily, and while I give myself a daily allowance of 1210, I do that to provide wiggle room. If I go over a couple hundred calories, it is not the end of the world to me, and gives me a decent cushion once I log my exercise.

Hi there, I feel your pain. I've spent my whole life listening to a thin relative making "little remarks" and I've never learned to live with it gracefully. I finally feel that I am on track and would love to be there with you on your journey. Have a good day.

It doesn't feel very good when those relatives who are already thin make their little comments. I am hoping to make a change for myself and to show them I can do this!
