Goals.

I'm trying to be as active as possible on here, as I want to make myself accountable for my exercising and eating choices.

I've set my first mini goal, 275lbs by my 30th Birthday, which is about 10 weeks away. That will be a loss of 19lbs.

I'm wondering what the consensus on goals is, should they be easy to achieve, as long as your doing things the right way. Or should you really have to work hard to achieve them. I've no idea if I'm going to meet mine, but I'm going to put maximum effort in, if I'm approaching it to quickly i may up the ante, If I don't hit it, I'll make the next target a tiny bit less ambitious.

You got that! Its going to happen if you do exercise for at least 20 minutes three times a week and track your calories and be under your daily goal! Its going to be a little hard and uncomfortable getting in the habit of going out and exercising but it is soooo worth it. You'll see!
  • I set my goals within the amount of weight you're supposed to lose per week (so 1-2lbs) but at the higher end of what I think I can achieve so that I work harder to get there but that it's not so difficult that I get disheartended when I realise there is no way I'm going to reach it whatever I do. You don't want to be at the point where it's encouraging you to be unhealthy. Obviously if you are at the start of your weight loss you're going to be losing more each week, so you would up it a bit. I think your idea of watching your progress and adjusting your goals is a good way to approach it.

I try and exercise everyday. I set my goals at 2 pounds a week. I set my goals so they are reachable but I also keep in mind that if I eat right and exercise more I might lose more weight. Good luck
