bad day

So today and the last couple of days have been kind of hard days to keep on track. I feel like I have hit a wall and it is hard to get beyond it. I have been on here 85 days today and I am disappointed in myself and the very little progress that i have made. I haven't hit the goal that i set for myself which is in two weeks and I know there is no way I am going to hit it by the time frame. What keeps people from giving in to those bad choices. Why do I keep making excuses to have one more piece of chocolate or some chips when really I am not hungry but just bored or just simply feel like having those things.

I had one of those days and gave into eating munchos...I just finished dinner too so I wasnt hungry, I dont know what my prob was! I wasnt bored either, watching a movie...I havent had a junk food craving since I started, that was my one and I feel terrible for giving in! but I threw the rest away and the other ones that have been sitting in the cubboard are going in the trash too. If they arent there I cant eat them!0

A good tip i got was chew a piece of gum or drink water when you want to eat and your not hunger. If you chew gum its usaully only 5 cal. and water has no cal. and i found it does help me a lot, and i hope you find it helpful too. If that doesn't help try popcorn the ones that only have 100 cal. that way you don't over do it.0

Heeney,
All of us have bad days. Don't let it distract you from your goal. I will tell you what it is that "keeps people from giving in to those bad choices": it is called bad habits. That's all. The subconscious mind is VERY powerful. And it is responsible for all of your habits, good & bad. It is the "memory" (like the RAM in your computer) in our body. You have to re-program your subconscious mind and change your habits.
The system of affirmations is very underestimated by people. I am telling you that it works. Write down a few positive affirmations in sticky notes (or your phone) and have them with you all the time. Read them at least 3 times a day. With time your brain will get used to "I can lose weight", "I have faith", "I don't need candy" e.t.c. and it will go to autopilot.
The only way to lose weight and keep it off successfully is by changing completely your mindset. Subconsciousness is a big part of us and it should be taken into consideration.
YOU can do it, now! Not in the future, don't use the word "will". Always use "I can", "I have".
Hope this is helpful information, take care.0 -
It really takes a lot of motivation to break these habits. I know exactly how yo feel though, because I've felt like that, and I loooooove food. I would snack ALL the time because I just loved the taste of foods and because I was bored. It took me a while to keep reminding myself what this was doing to me. I was letting food control me and I don't want that!
I found that it helps when you're having a snack craving to have a piece of gum instead, which only has 2 to 5 calories (if you buy the good kinds). Just know that if you have a bad day, you can get right back on track in just a day or two. Just try to stay focused, and don't beat yourself up for a bad day. If you realize what your triggers are for snacking, you can learn to control it, although it takes time! Good luck with your goal!!0 -
Just another note: I heard that 70% of the time you feel hungry, you are really just dehydrated! So try to drink more water, and maybe it will at least help the hunger part of it!0
