When you're low on calories at the end of the day?

It's almost 5pm and I'm pretty low on calories left in my day (120 to be precise)... what do you do/eat when you still have a few hours before bed and dinner bells are ringing in your stomach?

Skyr (similar to nonfat Greek yogurt). It's packed with protein and calcium, and I can almost always use a bit more of both. It's not too sugary, so it won't give me a buzz -- but not salty, so I won't feel compelled to drink something sweet and caffeinated with it.
Or turkey. Or a soft cheese like Brie or Camembert, if I need the fat. Or melon, grapes, or an apple if I need something lighter.

All of those are decent bedtime snacks for me. They're satisfying and filling enough, without forcing me awake or triggering a carb-out binge.

An occasional day in the red won't hurt you. Have a healthy dinner and make better choices tomorrow. I have 175 for dinner - so not going to eat an under 200 calorie dinner tonight. You also have the option to do a work out to earn extra calories.

I have 23 calories left after dinner. None left for my fruit. I feel your pain. I would agree with the above poster. My suggestion would be a big salad.

Miso soup, raw sliced crunchy veggies.

I go up to maintenance if I feel unusually hungry -- logically, eating at maintenance for one day will only delay your arrival at goal by one day.

I make a big salad with lettuce, tomato, pickle and low cal dressing. Less than 50 calories. If I have enough calories I'll add some grilled chicken breast.

I do the same, a big salad with LOTS of vegetable and lo cal dressing. No cheese, no nuts, but I try to add in a cup of chicken or turkey and then a nice long walk after dinner and all is well.
