Muscle Soreness

I just started jogging/running and the inside of my thighs are hurting, not sure if it is from jogging/running or something else, can all you runners out there tell me what muscles get sore on you??

Thanks

I've never had the inside of my thighs hurt, but my hamstrings, glutes and calves will often hurt.

You should try to do runner stretches and butterflies before and after your runs.

Inside of your thighs are used to narrow angle between pelvis and knees. Not sure why that would be sore from running.

My outside hips usually hurt and I stretch them out for about 10-15 minutes after every run. Never had the inside hurt

Its unusual to have the inner thighs be sore after a run. My recommendation would be to warm up before a run and definitely stretch after one. Just keep monitoring this. It may go away as you get stronger.

Could it possibly be the shoes? I overpronate and before I got good shoes to address this I hurt in weird places. I didn't take notes on where I hurt cause I quit exercising and waited til I could buy better shoes. I am not expert or a runner - just tossing this out to more knowlegeable peeps to weigh in on 'cause it sure made me wonder if this might be the culprit. I have flat feet. I guess some people may underpronate and have different issues and need a different type of shoe too....
But as I said, consider my info with caution - I just know I now can run/jump/play with the right shoe for me when I couldn't before without pain.

I agree, I've never had inner thigh pain from running. Stretch stretch stretch and if that doesn't help, maybe it's your form?

Sounds like typical groin muscle soreness. Google groin stretches. One I use before and after running is to stand with legs good distance apart and bend one knee and lean to stretch between your thighs. Alternately if you have a bench stand beside it and place one foot on it, keeping your leg straight. I just did this one before my run today and it was a good deep stretch! Hope this helps!
