good work for not going over:) but you can go over sometimes and not freak out you know your body has a afterburns so when you stop working out you still burning up calories for a few hrs afterwards .

I go over at least once a week even when losing weight. It's all about the trend line and no one day makes much of a difference.

Last weekend I went over by about 600 calories, nothing super unhealthy, just extra calories due to a weekend away. BUT I felt really sluggish and uncomfortably full, I won't be doing that again in a hurry! I realized that I actually didn't enjoy eating extra like I thought I would! :noway:

I do the same thing when I am going to go over on calories. I will exercise to make up for the overage. I am about half way to the 200 mark. I intend to never ever go over no matter what. If I can't burn 500 calories then I guess I will have to eat a bit less. I am a little nervous about up coming surgery how that will effect how much I can exercise and eat.

Honestly, I'd rather go over every now and then and be at peace with that than to feel bad about myself or guilty for going over. Especially when "over" means over your deficit goal, rather than your TDEE.

Are you saying that you feel physically sick because you ate 500 calories more than normal, or am I misunderstanding that? That doesn't bode too well for eating at your maintenance level. :flowerforyou:

You're misunderstanding it. I don't feel sick because I ate more and feel bad. I feel sick because I ate more than I usually do and it sat weird in my belly and triggered some nausea. It's pretty normal...

Should be past tense coz i'm okay this morning...

    I didn't feel guilty. I felt sick.
