I hate how stores differ in the sizes. but last night, i went to buy some- at charlotte russe. I was an 11 from them but they were kind of loose so I decided to try a 10. eh, still don't hug my body right. so I asked a friend to get a 9, she came back with an 8 saying they don't have 9. i'm like, wth. so i tried them on and they were perfect. it felt sooo great.

it;s discouraging that at other stores an 11 is tight, but charlotte rusee is my go to store for jeans and i'm sooo happy that i'm an 8. but i'm also a little confused because when i used to weight what i do now, 179, i was still an 11. but now i'm an 8?! maybe it's just that they changed their sizing. :(

Or maybe, if you have been working out you're losing inches in addition to just weight. Congrats! I love that feeling.

I was cleaning out my closet and found some of my old skinny clothes, I tried some shorts on and they fit! Nothing like fitting in smaller clothes to prove you're doing well.

Annoying isn't it? Ah well, beggars can't be choosers. I always buy a jeans brand called true 2 you. They never fail me lol. Best to just stick to one jeans brand. Saves us all the curfufal

I know what you mean. I wanted to buy capris from Old Navy and I'm normally a size 8, but I could only fit into their size 11 capris. So I decided to try on their jeans, just on a whim, and I fit into a size 6!!! What's up with that?!? So I just bought the jeans and cut them off into capris lol! :o)

I hate that! I read in an article years ago that brands have made their sizes bigger to accomodate the growing (in inches) population. So the size 7 that I wear now would have been an 11 when my mom was my age (up 2 sizes). And vica versa my mom's size 7 years ago wouldn't fit me cuz it's a "3" these days. Really shows where our nation is headed if we don't straighten up and stop the nonsense, huh? Glad WE are all on the right track!!!

Amy - You WILL get there...that is why you are on this site. If a single digit is your goal - (which is a great goal by the way) then go for it. You have something to work toward - you might even think about buying a pair and hanging them on your closet door for motivation. I did that with a pair of jeans that no longer fit , ( I mean really really didn't fit) I hung them on my door so I would see them everyday. Now they fit - without a muffin top! It took some time but it was worth it!!!!!
  • Thanks

I would love a 10 and know I can get there.
I always have a special pair of pants the next size down...
I am unsure what my hips vs thighs will look like so I do not know what style to get...yet...
