HELP! Working out to much on medifast?

I have been on medifast for about 4 weeks now and I'm not seeing the results I would like to be seeing.....I have only lost 4 to 5 pounds. I am a very active person who works out everyday and trains with my trainer ( weight lifting) 3x a week. I know you are not supposed t workout when first starting MF but since I was so active before I couldn't imagine cutting up excersie from my daily life. I was wondering if I should just workout on the days I train with my trainer (30min) and f that would help me see more results? I can feel and see myself gaining all this muscle and I love it but I would like to be loosing more weight then I am! I am working s hard and just want to see some results!!!

Just so you know, there is a dedicated Medifast group. You may want to join there so you can get a lot more opinions. I am on Medifast and have some thoughts I will post in a bit (I have to be at a hike in a few minutes!).

I'm 61 years old, 5'10, 160 lbs. I've been a 20+ mile/week jogger for 42 years. A few years ago my weight was 172 lbs and I decided to hook-up with a buddy and run some marathons. So for 1 years we trained for marathons including long runs and interval training. After one year of intense training and running several marathons my weight was 180 lbs.
Recently my doctor asked me to go on a lowfat/low cholesterol diet. So I've cut out all fried foods, very little red meat (serving only), no susage and low cal dairy only (no ice cream). I lost 13 lbs in 2 1/2 weeks. I love this "diet" because I like my new average weight. I don't necessary feel any better during the waking hours but my runs are better and the swims are more relaxed. Also the lowfat diet completely eliminated heartburn.
Everyone is different but carefully monitor your energy level, weight, blood pressure and heart pulse rate. A complete physical is a good idea. Good luck to you.

From what I know about Medifast, the diet is so low calorie that any type of exercise while on it could be dangerous. You need to fuel your body, not starve it.

Everyones body is different. I was able to train for a 5K while on the 5 & 1 but when I trained for a 10K my weight loss came to a screeching halt. Then, all I had to do was add some extra protein and I started losing again. You may have to tweak your plan a bit. talk to your coach about it. He/she should have some good suggestions for you.
