The less you have to lose, the more calories you can consume because you don't need to eat at such a large deficit anymore. MFP automatically offers to change your calories to fit the pounds remaining.0

Thanks for that info... But I am still losing at a good pace..... 1 to 2 pounds a week... If it is working why would I want to adjust it....? Just not sure of what to do.... After I hit my 30lbs lost I may restart at 5 lbs each until I feel good... Dont get me wrong I feel GREAT NOW but might want to take off a few more pounds. unsure right now...0

Hi:) I never adjusted my calorie goal, until just recently. Like you, I figured, why mess with something that's working or me! I set my original goal at 150, the highest acceptable weight or me, but was really aiming or 145. Once I got o 150 I lowered my goal o 145. When I hit that without struggling, I decided to go for 140. The last goal I set was for 135. Currently I am 126, and am going for 125....it's been my dream weight my entire adult life, & I never really thought, until now, that it was possible. I know many fellow MFPers woud disagree, but it worked for me. I recently had a checkup at my GP, and I'm in perfect health.
Best of luck to you!0 -
The goals it's asking you to reset aren't your weight goals, they are your calorie goals.
As you lose weight, your BMR can edge down (exercise is a good way to counteract it, but let's be honest, I don't need as many calories to maintain my weight as someone who is 100 pounds heavier needs to maintain their weight). Since you're still losing at a good 1-2 lbs per week, you probably don't need to worry about it so much, but it's good to be aware of anyway.
Also, when you do reach your goal weight (whether it's the original lose 30 pounds, or to lose some more as well), you'll want to start eating at a maintenance level. You may not want to jump straight into it, so adjusting your goals in advance (say, change to lose 1 or 1/2 pound per week) can help you make the switch. That is personal preference, though.
Congrats on your success and here's to loving your new body/life!0 -

I agree with this post ^^0 -
i understand that MFP asks you to adjust your daily calorie goal after you have lost a certain amout of weight (seems like it was about every 10 lbs or so). If i wasn't clear, i am saying that i did not adjust my calorie goal when prompted, as I did not want to mess with success. I didn't want to fix what wasn't broken. While others may disagree, it worked for me presonally.
As for the weight goal, that is a separate issue. As I said, I adjusted mine down as I went, in 5 lb increments.0
