I got an email this morning from Fitbit, contgratulating me on my first 1000 miles. To some this is no big deal, to me it is huge!

I will be 62 in September. I have been on MFP for 16 months. I got my fitbit in February. I have passed a lot of milestones in the past 16 months, but this one is the one I am proudest of. I did not begin to exercise until October 2012, 7 months into my commitment to get myself healthier. Through the encouragement of my daughter and one of my wonderful MFP friends. I began to walk. It was hard at first. Short walks of 15-20 minutes. My knees rebelled at all the excess weight that they had to endure for years. My knees are so much better now! I walked 2 hours, up and down hills in our woods, and could have gone longer. Enough hills that makes it equivalent to climbing 100 staircases recorded by my fitbit. On a hot, humid, July day! Me! If I can do it, most anyone can!

I joined MFP in May this year and heard about The Fitbit. Not long after I purchased a Fitbit one and it has been worth every penny I paid for it. It motivates me to keep on the go and I love the way you can interact with other users. I have lost 31lb to date and I believe this has been helped greatly with having the device.
Wow Fab loss and well done for your 1,000 mile badge. Your a true inspiration to us all,
May you have many more miles of health!

It's fun to collect those e-badges. I agree that Fitbit is very motivating -- it just gives enough feedback that encourages us to do "just a little bit more". Good for you!
