Hit plateu, upped cal, lost weight. Lowered cal, gained?

I recently hit plateu, so i upped my calories from 1200 to 1400/1500 for a week. When i did this, my weight dropped by a kilo.
Anyway, i went back to 1200 like a few people advised me to do, but im not losing and i even went back up?
This plateu is very frustrating, i just want to get past this... Should i just stay at 1400/500?

Tips?

If you lost weight at 1400/1500 it would make sense to go back to that.

Increase and give it at least a month before changing again. It takes a bit for your body to adjust to the change.

Yes!! I was at 1400 and wasn't losing as well. I upped it to 1800 based on how much I workout and started losing again. For most people 1200 is not enough if you workout regularly.

I personally think 1400-1500 is a great goal! Upping my calories did get me through my plateau last month, but it will be a little different for everybody. I think 1400-1500 is also more reasonable so that when you are closer to your goal weight you can slowly up by 100 calories each week to a weight maintain number. That way in the end you won't be jumping from 1200 - 1300 to 1800-1900 right away. My friend unfortunately did that and has had some troubles packing on extra unwanted pounds from eating so much more than her body was used to (1200). Best of luck and keep up the great work!
