Hi,
I recently purchased an OLD (I believe one of the first) Bowflex machine. I need help!!!

Any suggestions as to where to begin with strength training?
How do I determine how many to do?
How often should I do strength training?
Do I switch days of Cardio with my Strength workout?

Thank you in advance for the help.

  • Check youtube for your bowflex model. It might have a demonstration video. You also might be able to download the manual and maybe the exercise chart.

A lot of sites look down on the bowflex, but it is a great piece of equipment, that you get out of what you put in. Maybe someday, you'll be ready for more weight, but it's a great start. I just got a new weight set today, was using a 150 dollar weider machine that has served me well, but I am outgrowing it, and need to do more. Once you start on this, you'll understand.

k9education -- thank you for the advice and the site, I will definitely check into it.

HD Stretchman -- the price was right on this unit... I am sure one day I will out strength it and will upgrade. I am excited to be building my muscles and toning up. I will check out youtube.
