I have been following the plan. Exercising/working like crazy for the first time in my life and I am up 7 lbs in two months. Everyone is saying I am probably building muscle. Why is the scale going up? Feel like giving up.

Hi there!
Please give us your current stats: Height, weight and age.
Also please tell us how many calories you are eating a day and how many you are burning exercising, thanks!0 -
You don't build muscle when you are in a calorie deficit and 7 pounds in 2 months for a female would be exceptional unless you are a well trained body builder.
We need more info to help you. What do you eat in a day? What exercise are you doing? Age, height, current weight. All that plays into figuring calories burned.
Do you weigh and measure every morsel of food and write it down?0 -
I don't think you build muscle from cleaning?
Looked over the last few days in your food diary and the calorie counts seem a little low for a day. Have you tried eating more and what happened when you did?
ETA: I just noticed your previous post. Could your health problems have anything to do with being unable to lose weight?0 -
Oh please don't give up. Maybe it's what you are eating or the portion size. Also, remember you have to eat to lose weight so don't skip meals...especially breakfast. I am vvas22 feel free to add me as a friend.0

Cut your sugar down as well as your processed foods. Don't waste 480 calories on cliff bars. Eat more whole foods, veggies, fruits and whole grains.0

I ear the cliff bar when I work for convenience as most times I only get 15 minut breaks. I am doing high protein diet. That is what my nutritionist suggested. My exercise is as a cashier at a very high pace home improvement store. Fast and alot of lifting, bending, squating, and Standing and walking. I take meds for hypothyrodism and have a nessan(stomach wrap for acid reflex disease) so can only consume small amounts at a time. Can't do fresh vegetables(to hard on stomach). Saw nutritionist in may, was 217 now am 224. What am I doing wrong?0

could it be your thyroid meds? have you talked with your doctor about why you're gaining? i looked at your diary (went back to around 4th of july) and while your protein is high (because of your diet) your sugar seems out of control (way over almost every day) and on some days you are barely eating anything. you can make your own "cliff bars" and it will help bring down your sugar. what about puree for veggies and you could mix it in with whatever you are having for lunch/dinner. i didn't see a single day where you had any kind of bean (even mashed they are great). i understand that due to your health issues you can do fresh veggies but i didn't even see a single frozen or hell canned veggie on your food diary. i think you need to readjust what you are eating and you will see a loss.0 -

Please dont give up!! Make an appointment with a doctor to see if there is a reason why you are not able to lose weight. Dont beat yourself up.... You may have a thyroid problem or etc...... This is the reason why I do not just go by what other people say because when I do that I get discouraged. ... I have experience in this area........ I have some health issues that keep me from eating like everyone else and excersizing like everyone else........ I have a thyroid and cholestrol problem plus I have injuries I am recovering from... so I am having to create a special tailered det and excersize program for me so I will not harm myself trying to keep up with everyone else. I had rather see youu lose weight in a healthy way then in a way that could be harmful to you.0 -
Thank you everyone. I think I was concentrating so hard on the protein that I forgot veg and fruit. Also left message for dr. Will see what she thinks. Maybe high protein diet is not right for me. Will see how she wants to proceed. Will give it another try.everything seems to have lots of sugar and I guess that is what I am craving.0
