Life nailed me but I didn't screw myself.

I love your stories even if I am to young to get the references lol! I wish I had read this post earlier I let the rain slow me down for the second day in a row!0

The quality of persistence is often under-rated

I was something of an inspiration to many on the board and felt like I was finally on the road to becoming healthy and fit once again.
You're STILL an inspiration. I always learn from your writings and get a take-away message. Thanks for not giving up on your day... next time I'm in the same boat, I will think of you and be inspired to get back in the green0 -
I think I love you.0

Best post!! True testament of life, temptations and discipline. You may of given into the pizza devil, but you overcame with the working out angels...
Love this post!!
Congratulations on getting back on track and as usual just a beautiful posting. You write with such passion and honesty!:flowerforyou:0 -
I think this is the best thing I've read since joining MFP!0

Great story and good job! You overcame the temptation and didn't give up! This story also makes me appreciate the value of this website and, despite having had a terrible day nutritionally and mentally, makes me feel like I can also work towards my goals if I just keep up the good fight. It's the little victories that lead to a lasting change!0

Thank you!!! You are a true inspiration0

Funny!! And I am a visual person, so I could "see" it as it happened!0

Your first mistake was allowing yourself to celebrate Tim Lincecum doing anything ;-) Sorry, that's the Braves fan in me coming out
In all seriousness, amazing job and persistence! I've done the pre-logging of exercise before, and the temptation to do anything BUT that exercise is so strong it's ridiculous. I'm so glad you didn't let a screw get you down! Now go get a tetanus shot! :-)0 -
So how do I get one of those free pizzas?
jk
Seriously, well-written and inspiring post. We've all been there, we've all been weak, we've all felt bad...but not everyone is strong enough to do something about it. Pretty cool, man.
This showcases one of the big strengths of MFP, that being ACCOUNTABILTY. It's sometimes easier to lie to yourself, than it is to others.
It's hot and humid and sticky as heck in Canada, too.
And I appreciate the double-entendre in the topic title. Almost missed it at first.0 -
What a great post! You Sir, are fantastic! Love your writing style, profanity and all! :flowerforyou:0

Great job! I only wish I had this motivation... except for the fact that I have a sprained ankle and know when I need to stop. But when it heals, this will be a great inspiration to me.
Edited to say:
I only wish today the heat wave here hadn't stopped me from riding my bike (pretty much the only exercise I can do).0 -
Free food is hard to pass up! It is one of my biggest weaknesses too. I love how you write. Wonderful job, walking so far, so fast. Sorry about the screw. Life can do that to you once in awhile. Lol.0

After devouring that pizza you made sure that you earned it.
While you were about to just say F**k it and let that be the day. You stuck it out and kept your word to not only your MFP friends, but you kept your word to yourself and got the workout done.
Even when you got screwed, you kept on plugging away. Good For You. I admire your determination!0 -
