II am currently looking to incoroprate my iPhone into a HRM to better track my cals burned and have seen the Wahoo Fitness Fisica Fitness Sensor, coupled with a Heart Rate Monitor. Is anybody using this setup? If so, can you give me some feedback on it?
If you are using anything connected to your iPhone as a HRM, please speak up, I already use LogYourRun on my phone, and they recommend the Wahoo or a 60beat brand HRM. Any input would be appreciated... Thanks!!

If I remember correctly, Runkeeper and Polar can link if you have the bluetooth module from Polar.

I read that about a month ago, very informative, I just haven't found anyone else out there with it. All told, it's about $130 to spend. I'm hoping for a little more info before I plunk down that kind of money.

If you're really set on using your iPhone, I'd say go with it. ANT+ is becoming pretty ubiquitous these days.

Me, I really don't like carrying my iPhone with me on runs, so I'll stick to my Garmin. But I would definitely pick one of these up if I started cycling again.

Sorry, just realized I didn't really answer your original question.

As I use Garmin products, all my HRMs have been ANT+ and they work fine, with one weird exception. (PM me if you want/need to know what that was). I know polar also makes an ANT+ compatible strap, but I haven't used it.

I actually prefer the Garmin straps to the polar ones, comfort wise.

I tried Wahoo sensor. It is great if you are not planning to use any other software, including phone. It does not allow any multitasking and can not run on background. For example, I do p90X. I would like to track my heart rate and track weights with another iPhone p90X software. Can not do this. As soon as I switch to p90X software to document my weight, I lose connection with heart rate tracker.
To me this is a deal breaker. Otherwise the device works great.

Wahoo fitness has a bluetooth product. I was wondering if it would work with myfitnesspal

MFP doesn't integrate directly to pull your HRM data in, but we can keep our fingers crossed for the future! Process today would be to input exercise time & calories manually.

Having said that, Wahoo makes awesome HRM's and any brand can give you data you need while working out to allow you to gauge your burn! Highly recommended for cardio exercises.

    Yeah this device looks awesome.

Looks like this site integrates with the device but their nutrition portion does not even come close to the quality that
    http://www.myfitnesspal.com has

I use the wahoo religiously luv it but like previously stated does not like to run in
In the background and u do have to manually enter info in mfp hope that changes
App for wahoo lets u control ur music see cal burned time excersized and if u use
GPS will track laps n distance I have the 4s so I don't need the extra dongle to connect

I have an iPhone 4, with Wahoo Ant+ key. I use Runkeeper or Strava (currently trying to choose between them) and they both pick it up fine.
