Do's and Dont's i have learned so far

Options
Things I have learned on my journey here, its amazing the habits I picked up
things to remember-

DO-Stick with it, even if you gain
DO-log your food here
DO-move around
Don’t- drink your calories
Don’t- eat unhealthy fast food (McDonald’s, Arby’s, Burger King, Wendy’s….)
Do-take pictures now, even if you dont want too..
Do- your food log
Don’t-judge your weight loss on what other people notice
Do-your food log
Do- plan at least one normal meal
Do - be patient
Do - plan out your meals... have a birthday party tomorrow? eat light today, and for breakfast tomorrow morning... than feel good when you eat that cake... just be reasonable.

i have learned that eating 2500+ calories for a meal once every so often (such as holidays) , does not mean you will gain anything. Its a weekly average, and your body can only absorb so much fat, in a given amount of time. So overdo it once, then move on with life!

and one more thing,
LOG YOUR FOOD!.... i have found that when i start slacking on the food log, i stop loosing, and even gain a week. Even if i am going over that day in calories, i still log it!

You inspired me to write down what I have learned in the last 4 weeks.

    Do-Eat your calories!
    Do- Exercise and move
Do- Try new recipes and spices
Don't-Sweat it if you gain one week
Don't-Beat yourself up for a slip up
    Do-Log every bite!
Do- Weigh in once a week
    Do- Measurements
    Do-Embrace the message boards!

    Great post.

    Two more points . . .

WEIGH or MEASURE or ESTIMATE ACCURATELY

Log everything. Even things with 'no calories' (like lettuce) and condiments (a sprinkle of cheese, mayo, salad dressing, whipped cream, mustard, croutons . . . ).

It makes a difference of hundreds of calories a day.

Some of the points are unnecessary for healthy, sustainable weight loss, but most are valid. Good for you on finding what works for you.
