When I logged on this morning and recorded my weight i found out I have lost 10.3 lbs. WOOT. Then I got a question. Do I want MFP to adjust my numbers or wait another 10 lbs? What do most of ya'll do?

I check in every five pounds or so to make sure my goals are still on track.0

As I got closer to my goals, I let them readjust it for me. After all this is a marathon, not a sprint, right?0

I leave mine alone as long as I'm losing weight and feeling good. If I cut it and I get hungry, then I know I can't sustain that long-term.0

Thanks everyone! And yes this is a marathon. One I am going to be on for the rest of my life. I am allowed 2100 or so calories a day and never eat that many, but I also know that if I start thinking of it as restrictions, I might be more tempted to go over those calories, make sense? Probably not lol.0

That makes sense to me!!0

I accidently did when I got down 10 pounds, and it knocked off 30 calories. I think if I keep doing these increments it will be easier to adjust than if I waited and it takes off 200 or so calories.0

I let it adjust each time. To me it makes sense to do so because as I get smaller, my body needs fewer calories (unless I'm increasing my workouts).0

I dont let it adjust mine, cause I have it customized and I dont want it to change my percentages.0

I will be within thirty pounds of my goal before I make any changes.0

I didn't at the 10 lb mark and had some concerns about it too. You can see what I posted under the topic "Recalculating Calorie Intake". Just about everyone who replied to the post said to recalculate. One person even said they recalculate every week. Basically, I was already at eating 1200 calories per day, and I knew MFP would not recommend me eating any less (I do know, if I drastically change my activity level, MFP will suggest eating more). My 2-cent opinion, if what you are doing continues to work for you than do it, but if your results are not what you expect/want then recalculate.0

Thanks everyone. I left it this time. I also monitor my iron, sugar and sodium. I am severe anemic and hypoglycemic so I LOVE the fact MFP let's me monitor these. I usually go over my sugar but it is because of fruit so I dont freak out over that.0
