    Hi Angela,

Well done on making the first step in logging onto MFP.
Try not to compare yourself to your husband, every person is very different. I used to do the same as my husband can also eat for England and not gain a thing, but I have learnt to recognise what my body needs now.

I am trying to lose about 42lbs, am 10lbs in so far and have found it so much easier using MFP as it gives you so much more than just a calorie count.

Maybe it's not about the fact you are eating 3 meals a day, but WHAT you are eating. There can be a lot of hidden calories in foods that we have every day. Before MFP, I wouldn't think twice about a nice homemade pie with a crusty pastry topping - that was until I logged the actual calorie count of it! Also portion sizes - get yourself a good pair of kitchen scales and weigh everything. The eye is not good at judging a portion! It takes time at the beginning but if you are committed it does get easier.

If you have the app on your phone, its really easy to log food because of the barcode scanner - the database is huge too! On the app i have started making up sets on meals i have regularly (like breakfasts) and have put in all my recipes as I cook most evenings - then once they are in there, next time round it's so much easier to log it!

With the exercise - you just have to go with what you can do for now and as you lose weight, you will be able to do more. Even if you just walk around the block slowly for 10-15 mins a day and gradually build up on that, then that's a start! If you add exercise into your log, you get a few more calories to eat too! :-)

Good luck on your journey and feel free to add me as a friend if you want some support along the way :-)

    Hugs x

Try a keto diet if exercise is limited. Portion control is key, find your BMR and calculate your TDEE then subtract 500 cals and try to eat around that number for an estimated 1lb a week.
