most days I try to jog 2-3 miles, challenging for me (dont laugh),I have noticed, some days like today I could barely complete 2 miles. Are some days just like that? Like a bad hair day?

Yep, I have days where I go out and run for miles feeling great. Other days I feel like quitting right away. Not uncommon at all.

Has a lot to do with the food you are eating too I've learned. From my personal experience -

I feel better when I don't have a ton of carbs. I try and eat protein instead, and then I feel like I can conquer more things. Was just recently diagnosed as gluten intolerant, so i'm not eating any bread at the moment (not even gluten free bread yet, but i'll get to it). I just know I feel better today than I have the past 4 months of getting sick not knowing I was allergic to gluten.

Also depends on your sleep and stress levels... some days you sleep better, some days you are more or less stressed. A lot of factors can come into play here, which I know is frustrating

Yup! There are good days and bad days. Some days I feel like I can run forever, some days I can't even get past the first mile. I just power walk when I have to and try to rein it in a little when I feel too good (I have tons of injuries because I "thought I could").

    Don't sweat it. :)

Absolutely. Some runs, the stars align and everything falls into place, and some runs you'll just go back to bed and pull the covers over your head. And some runs start off where you want to quit, but you push a little bit past it and it ends up being the best run ever.

I usually make myself go at least a mile before I'll let myself quit. Then I have to go another mile to get home, or keep going. I think the only time I ever decided to go home after the first mile was when my (yet unknown) stress fracture went from "something feels a little funny" to "something feels very wrong."

I'm a 2-3 miler as well (hopefully one day I'll get past that!). I find that I run better on an empty stomach, so either first thing in the morning or at night before dinner. Are you running outdoors or on a treadmill?

I don't run, bad knees, but I love spinning class and weights. There are some days I can do advanced levels and feel like the world, and other days I'm lucky to keep up. My heart rate isn't elevated, I just don't have the energy.

I experiment with diet, workouts etc. I found if I haven't been eating enough or not getting enough good carbs, I don't have very much energy. That may just be me, but I do know glycogen stores are important, and you get those from good carbs.

I have those days too! It sucks but I think sometimes we have more energy then other times.
