Taking whey a few hours before/after workout

Hi Guys!

I follow a mostly vegetarian diet and have about 140 grams of proteins in a day, with about 60 grams coming from whey powder I take before and after the workout. As I weight about 200 lbs, I was wondering if I could take some more whey a few hours (3-4) before/after workout. As an example if I make high protein frozen yogurt (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XY8Wp6qbCho) sometime before sleeping or maybe early morning using some whey powder, is that okay?

Or should I be using Casein powder instead of Whey in case I want to have some protein powder outside the workout time zone?

Thanks guys!
Aditya

Daily total is what matters most. Eat after your workout or a few hours later. Don't waste money on casein.

But isn't it generally agreed upon that Whey should be taken close to your workout times? Does its absorption vary if taken 3-4 hours before or after?

Also, is up to 100 grams of protein supplements okay, if you overall protein intake is about 200 grams? (50% from supplements)

I only take it when needed and short on protein, so that may be two scoops or zero.

No need to rush to chug that shake after workout. Eat when it is convenient.
