Vent / whine - sorry in advance!

I'm really struggling lately. The only days I feel happy are days when I over eat. I'm feeling crippled by financial stress and a general feeling of lack of interest/support from close family and friends. I am such a positive upbeat person all day but I don't feel like anyone is really there for me. I have a wedding coming up next year and this seems to amplify the lack of support.
I seem to have a few good days of eating and exercise, then I have a day where I fall off the wagon and ruin all my hard work.
I'm sorry for the pity party. just a really tough couple of months. I am so grateful for all I have in life, this last few months has left me feeling sad and paralyzed.
Any tips or advice?

Have you tried ADDING things to your diet instead of taking them out?
For example, commit to eating three servings of vegetables and one of fruit every day for a week. Most people like to eat roughly the same volume of food each day naturally, so if you add several low calorie but high volume foods to your diet, some of the higher calorie choices will fall out.0 -
sounds to me like you need a few positives to focus on - things that are just for you, that make you feel good, that aren't food. What do you have in your life that fits this bill?
For me, nail art, pampering (massages, pedicures etc). curling up with a good movie or book, going for a walk.drive/workout and sitting on the beach tuning out the world all work. I've come back from depression by taking time out to do things that matter to me and are all about me x0 -
Honey, is it your own wedding next year? I work in the wedding industry - believe me the lack of wedding support is normal. If I had a £ for every bride who was surprised that there wasn't more enthusiasm for the wedding...
Do the practical approach - make a list of all the things that are going wrong at the moment - and on the side put a possible solution to each. Then take the smallest thing that will be the easiest to sort out, and fix it. Cross of list. Move on to next one.
Food is related to how you feel, no question about it. I agree with trudijoy, focus on the positive, it will help your mindset.
About friends and family - I can tell you that I've been surprised many times in my life by support from people who would be the last to expect it from, so try to talk to people who are your friends outside the immediate circle. Even a few words of unexpected encouragement can do wonders!
*hugs* good luck hunny, let us know how you get on!0 -
I hope this isn't out of turn, but I noticed you said you were struggling financially. I've been there and in the last month have got myself back on track after finding an apporach called YNAB - You Need a Budget. It's based around 4 rules and has software that assists you to follow it (curerently about USD10 on Steam, normally USD60).
Since sorting out finances out I've been able to focus on my weight and in the last 3 weeks, suddenly my world seems to have come back into focus. I've got money in the bank at the end of my paycheck cycle and I've lost 10 lbs. Partly because I haven't been eating as comfort.
I use lists for everything and being able to tick a few things off every day all help to give me a sense of achievement and boost my willpower for food and exercise. It will come just little things at a time. Take care0
