Day 2 - feeling empowered

So yesterday I went to the Dr. and was shocked by how much I weighed - this was a reality check in the largest (no pun intended) way! I downloaded MFP about a month ago after hearing about it on the local radio station - but never really used it until yesterday.
I have to say - I was able to stay within my calories for the first day without being prepared - but boy did it make me very concious of what I was going to put in my mouth! But I used them wisely and was still able to enjoy a 1/2 cup of ice cream with my daughter at snack time! THIS CAN WORK FOR ME I JUST KNOW IT!!
So day two - and I'm feeling awesome! I'm feeling EMPOWERED! I have 53 pounds to lose - and for the first time it is clicking in my head that no matter what I eat - food is energy - and if I overeat - that energy is going to store as fat. Shaking my head that it took this long to have my Ah Ha moment - but glad I did!

you can do this - add me as friend is you need or want some support - I have been here since March and have learned a lot about what I should be able to eat, how much I can eat, how much I need to drink and move too. This is a wonderful site.0

i'm new too! Friend me if you'd like. I recently had my "i need to make a change" moment after seeing myself in a recent photo. It's enough to make someone depressed. I'm on my first week as well and feeling positive about it. You can do it!0

We've all been there. Yes the 1st week is the hardest. But once you have that weigh-in and see the results, it makes it all worth it. Keep going, stay focused, stay motivated!!!0

Starting this week, myself.
We are in this together!

Totally right! Log everything and don't let the odd 'bad' day get you down - we all have them now and again, but stay strong and get right back to it the very next day.
Drink plenty of water, especially with your food to help fill you up.
Make sure you have a good pair of kitchen scales and weigh everything at the start. It gets easier, but the time spent getting it right at the start makes all the difference!
Good luck on your journey and feel free to add me if you would like some more support :-)0
