Advice on beginning strength training

Hiya, I have decided to start lifting weights to lose weight and not sure if i'm doing the right exercises and/or lifting the right weights.
I am 180lb looking to lose 40-50lbs. I am a 5ft 3 female.
I am using dumbells at home as easier to fit in around my young kids. Dumbells are 7.5kg each (16.5lbs)
Exercises are as follows 3 sets of 10 reps
1. Alternate bicep curls standing
2. bent over row
3.shoulder press
4. bicep dips
5. squats with weights at shoulders
Think these are the right names for them?
Anyway this takes me 15-20mins and planning doing weekdays. Am I doing enough?
Any advice appreciated.

Check out the book "The New Rules of Lifting for Women" by Lou Schuler. It is quite interesting and includes workout plans that can be modified for home workouts.0
