Hi Guys,
I'm new to health eating and lifestyle changes.
I was wondering if someone could take a look at my food diary for today and give me a bit of guidance.
i thought i was doing well today, i ate regularly and ate what i thought was healthy and good, however i still have 464 calories remaining. But no protein left for the day, and im over on fat by -3.
Im not really sure what else i could have to eat, i am hungry but dont want to go over on anything:), but dont want too few calories either.
is there anything to eat which has calories, but no protein, or fat.
I really need to organize my meals better, but have no idea where to start
Any help will be appreciated

A lot of people think that MFP sets their protein default too low, so I wouldn't worry about going over on protein.0

The macros for protein, fat, carbs, sugar ect... are Suggestions, not Limits. Please feel free to go over any of these as you see fit, the most important thing is that you are eating your calories.0

Think of protein as a minimum goal to hit rather than a max - same with fiber.0

This is pretty right on, except I'd caution that you don't go over on carbs, and the reason is because then you are sacrificing either protein or fat, and those are the only two that are essential to bodily function, carbs are not. Go over protein and fat as much as you'd like as long as you don't go over your calorie goal0 -
Don't worry about protein... try to go past the MFP suggestion.
Ditch the slimfast and have a real meal to get some more calories and nutrients in. I would add in more fruits (didn't see any) and more vegetables (you only logged 1.5 cups worth).0 -

Eat don't drink your foods. IMO, I'd use the protein drink as a boost after a workout; not as a meal replacement.
Eat some lean mean: Ahi tuna, chicken (no bone/skin), lean beef, lean pork, cottage cheese, yogart.0 -
thanks guys that's really helpful:) ill try something different tomorrow:).
Its hard at the moment because this is the first time ive actually wanted to change for the better, i just want to try and get the balance right:)0 -
Slimfast for dinner is not going to keep you satisfied, eat protein such as chicken and a salad.0

ha ha sis told you slim fast should not be used as a replacement. You will learn hun and this is a great place to learn and ask questions. The first time I dieted I used slim fast and soon learnt that it can't be sustained long term. I'm so proud of you for actually sticking to it coz taking that first step and admitting that you have a problem is one of the hardest. :bigsmile:0
